Woodland VR is a virtual reality experience that places the user in a digital woodland environment and shows the effects that deforestation has upon it. The experience aims to increase awareness of the Woodland Trust and the importance of looking after our woodland environment.
Main areas of responsibility:
Design and develop a website that will increase footfall in the Woodland VR installments.
Design the brand identity.
This project has a very broad user base as it is about protecting an area of the environment that appeals to all age groups. The main requirements were for the website to be approachable and friendly whilst peaking people's interest and encouraging them to visit one of the installations.
The woodland VR website needed to strike a balance between being visual and informative. Featuring too much information at once could hamper the conversion of new users as they could become overwhelmed and uninterested.
The website design comprises sections that contain concise and informative copy with the opportunity for the user to learn more if they desire. This gives the user an overview of the key aspects of the project without overwhelming them. The inclusion of Woodland VR installation reviews helps new users identify the value that visiting an installation presents. This increases user conversion rate and, therefore, increasing installation footfall.
The UX flow and website UI were designed and developed with user testing validating the effectiveness of the final solution in increasing footfall in the WoodlandVR installations.
